The young girl walked, scared, alone. Wondering how she could be such an idiot, she liked Josh like mad, God how she liked him. But she believed the feelings to be unrequited. How could she be so foolish as to believe a man like that would take an interest in a girl like her. He was hansom, amazing with a great personality. Why would he take an interest in a weedy little girl like her? So skinny that she has girls attack her out of pure hatred, pure jealousy. They shout she’s anorexic they spread rumours, claim she sleeps around. Why would Josh really like a girl who can’t cop with school yard bullies? Who has to be defended be a girl who doesn’t even know her name? The girl was a nobody in everybody’s eyes, a human that wasn’t really there, didn’t really exist.
She walked around the city, avoiding the known crime areas. If anybody tried to attack her she would be powerless against them. Unable to fight or fend for herself. As she wandered she suddenly had the feeling of being watched. The girl turned, nothing. The stillness made her feel uneasy. As she continued her pace quickened until she was nearly sprinting.
‘I have to get out of here,’ the girl thought to herself, scared for her life. She now realised leaving the hotel was a bad idea. The girl continued to walk, taking the main roads and turning to ensure she was walking in the direction of the hotel.
“We gotta go find them.” Mary-Anne said to Rita. Rita just sat and looked at the woman who just admitted that she didn’t even know the name of her own daughter.
“Mary-Anne, your daughters is with Josh. He is responsible, she’s safe. But you need help, severe help.” Mary-Anne looked at Rita, the suggestion of help created anger in every crevice of her mind. She didn’t need help, she was fine. It was her daughter who needed help. Mary-Anne got up from the chair and walked over to the kitchen counter.  She picked up a glass and broke it against the counter. Ensuring the edges were sharp.
“I’m sorry you feel that way.” Mary-Anne said as she lunged at Rita with the broken glass. The smaller woman could not contend against the full force of the hefty woman and the attack was brutal. Blood everywhere, Mary-Anne stabbed Rita at least 30 times, on her neck, chest, arms, legs and even head. Rita clung onto life as Mary-Anne left the house leaving her to meet her maker, leaving her for death.
Josh sat in the hotel room, he hadn’t moved and inch since the girl left. Tears still falling down his cheeks. He truly did like the girl and wanted to be with her. But how was it to be possible when the death of his fiancé still hung over him,
‘I need her,’ Josh though to himself, crying even more. He looked at the time, the girl shouldn’t have left the hotel. It was early morning so Josh thought it would be best to go and look for her.
The girl walked, ahead she could see one of the group of boys who went for her earlier. She put her head down, hoping he didn’t see her or recognise her. Unfortunately he did see her, as she went to walk past he grabbed her by the arm.
“Woah, what’s your hurry?” He said to the girl. She tried to wriggle out of his grasp, but he was too strong for her. As she struggled his grip tightened. She hit him round the face, it was only then did he push her against the wall and rest his entire body weight on her so she couldn’t move. “Now bitch. Maybe we should try again. What’s your hurry?” The boy said as he moved in to kiss the girl on the lips. She fought his advances, trying to pull away from the kiss. He only got more angry and more fierce though, it was as if he liked her to struggle. The girl couldn’t move as the boy started to kiss lower, kissing the girls neck and then chest. She only had one option.
“Help! Somebody help me! Please.” The girl screamed. The boy stopped kissing and put his hand over her mouth, she bit him and continued to scream. He hit her around the head and knocked her out cold.
“Help! Somebody help me! Please.” Mary-Anne heard a voice in the distance, she thought it sounded like her young daughter. She started to make her way towards the voice in the hope of finding her child alive. She came to a road, with a girl laying on the floor and a boy standing over her.
“Help! Somebody help me! Please.” ‘That voice.’ Josh thought, ‘Oh God no, she’s in trouble.’ He ran to where the source of the voice was coming from. As he got there he say the girl laying on the floor with a boy standing over her. He ran at him, pushing him against the wall and attacking him.
“What did you do to her?” He said as he punched the boy in the face, he didn’t let him go. Punching and kicking him, until he ached all over. “What did you do…” Josh let go of the boy, the boy cowered in up against the wall. Trying to make himself seem small, insignificant. Josh looked at the boy, he knew that attacking him wasn’t going to help. He had to see if the girl was ok. See that he didn’t hurt her badly. Josh spat on the boy and left him there cowering as he went to see if the girl was ok. First observations showed that there didn’t seem to be any signs of injury. She stirred, feeling the strong mans arms around her. She looked up, seeing Josh sitting holding her. She managed a weak smile.
“Hey.” She said, Josh smiled at her and then brought her up to him for one long lingering kiss.
The girl wanted this moment to never end with Josh, she wanted to be with him. He may be 7 years her senior, but that doesn’t matter to her. She wanted to be with him, he was such a nice guy. The broke away from each other, she looked up with tears in her eyes. She had come so close to being attacked, and he was her savoir.
“I want to be with you always.” Josh said to the girl, she smiled that was all she wanted to hear. She wanted to be with him also, always. She felt safe, secure with him. She could see that he needed her as much as she needed him. Out of the corner of her eye though, she could see the figure of a woman walking towards them.
“Josh watch out.” She shouted, he turned, and as he did the woman stabbed him in the neck. She continued, stabbing him over his chest, neck, face, back. The girl was crying, she was powerless to stop the bloodshed. The guy she liked was dying in front of her eyes, and she couldn’t do anything to stop it. Finally the attack died down, the girl looked up and through her tear stained eyes she could see who the woman was.
“Mum?”
